Two Bank Robberies in Montgomery County

Montgomery County Police are investigating two bank robberies that occurred Monday afternoon in the Rockville and Gaithersburg areas of the county. 

At approximately 4:23pm, police responded to a call indicating that an individual was claiming he had an explosive device at the BB&T branch along Seven Locks Rd (along Fortune Terrace). The suspect left the bank without acquiring any cash. 

Roughly 10 minutes later, another bank robbery call was received for a TD Bank branch in the 15800 block of Shady Grove Rd. In this instance, a suspect was able to escape with an unknown amount of cash.

At this time, it is unclear whether the two incidents are related. However, law enforcement are investigating if there is a connection.

Black Friday Gas Station Robbery

Montgomery County Police are on the scene of an armed robbery in Silver Spring.

The Shell gas station at 9510 Georgia Avenue was robbed in the 6:00pm hour this evening. The suspect obtained an unknown amount of cash and a large amount of Newport cigarettes according to responding officers. Police are currently looking for a black male who may be wearing a puffy black Columbia jacket. He may be driving a black Scion vehicle with Virginia plates KMS3113.

As always, DO NOT approach the suspect if spotted. Instead, call local police or dial 911 immediately.
